Matthieu Montalban is a HDR lecturer in economics at the University of Bordeaux and is attached to GREThA. His research is in the field of institutional economics, applied to industrial issues. He has worked on the financialization, business models and regulation of the pharmaceutical industry; he is currently working on digital capitalism, notably on the analysis of the business models of digital platforms and gig economy and their effects on labour, and also on cooperative alternatives to these platforms, as well as on cryptocurrencies and the relations between capitalism and transhumanism ideology. He has published several articles, books and book chapters on these issues.
